When did the addition of votes become so hard?
There has never been a problem quite like this before,
one that caused people to distrust the numbers
or question who cast the ballots and who they were for.
Why is there a multiplication of problems
surrounding an election today?
Why can't things operate as they have for decades,
with confidence in the process along the way?
It seems there is a subtraction of truth
with less clear information about what is going on,
and a growing fear of how the results will be twisted,
leaving us wondering where honesty has gone.
There is a division within this country,
one that has grown under one man and his party.
Now Tuesday, and all the days that follow,
are filled with uncertainty, anxiety, and worry.
