The Wall
We seem to grope blindly
as we look for the door through the wall
Whenever we see an opening
It seems to just as quickly close
we try to remain hopeful
there has to be a way through
maybe if we all join hands
we can together lead the charge
to kick down the blasted wall.
This is for my prompt at What's Going On? -- Openings and Closings

I was amazed when the Berlin wall fell........so I have to believe we will inevitably swing back to better times than these.
ReplyDeleteIf everyone pulls together, you will overcome. It's persuading others that is the problem
ReplyDeleteOf course "the blasted wall" Will go. I loved to see Hope as being the 'Opening'. Closing lines read like prayer and action as well. Well put, Mary.
ReplyDeleteUnity and community certainly break down walls - an encouraging write - Jae
ReplyDeletewe can together lead the charge
ReplyDeleteto kick down the blasted wall. Oh what a wonderful opening through the wall Love it and yes your poem contains truth ❤️
Don't loose hope.
ReplyDeleteThe Walls that we know are invariably impediments, the Great Wall, Berlin Wall, Mexico Wall all meant for something sinister. Yes, 'we try to remain hopeful'!
ReplyDeleteHank
This particular wall seems to be made of steel, but maybe if we all
ReplyDeletepush hard enough it will collapse, like Trump's face.
