Conversation
I ask a question
you answer
happy to share
your experience
your thoughts
your wisdom
then your silence
you’ve finished
I reflect on your words
question more
you add detail
elaborate
I invite you to explain
you answer
smile
silence again
you then beam
proudly
and ask
is there anything else
you’d like
to know?
Yes...lol. Fun 55.
ReplyDeleteYou have drawn quite a portrait through this conversation, Mary! The ending made me smile. All the more so as this person reminds me of someone I met quite recently. Very often people reveal more about themselves than they are aware.
ReplyDeleteAt least there was an exchange of thought.
ReplyDeleteSome conversations are oratories.
Loved your conversational 55 Mary
Always positive, always real...You Rock!
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
haha nosey as can be at your 55 sea
ReplyDeletesmiles...its a comfortable place where the lives are laid open for inspection...look, hear, ask...whatever you want...i trust you with that....
ReplyDeleteAnything else? Yes!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know those things you don't want to tell me.
Go ahead. Speak. I'll listen...
You "do" Q & A well, Mary...and in 55, no less (or no more!)
It is a true wonder, to "know" another via conversation, one of God's gifts.
Maybe four legged animals also share ...a little bit? Hmmm. Have to research that.
Cool. I envy people who have the energy for this sort of exploration. Truly, I do. I am just So Tired!
ReplyDeleteI love conversations. Such a great way to interact when people are willing to share--and frustrating when they are too silent! Of course being comfortable with silence is a wonderful thing between two people who are close.
ReplyDeleteGossip girls!!
ReplyDeletesilence is not entertained....so conversation goes on.......a nice sketch... :)
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of allowing ourselves the vulnerability to be asked literally everything and anything...but there's only a handful of people on the planet that we could ever feel that comfort with. But once we do, wow...
ReplyDeleteVery coy! Lovely 55.
ReplyDeleteSo few people really share what they think...so often it's more about what they think you want them to think...if that makes any sense? This is a cool conversation, Mary.
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a pretty nice converstaion. :o) Have a good weekend Mary.
ReplyDeletestructure works quite well with this - a real sense of back and forth ~
ReplyDeleteWell for me that's a conversation ~ Silence should be comfortable & can be part of it ~
ReplyDeletewell, i think thats the most difficult thing to do, i ask you answer... nobody can do it :) well written :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet write. How I long for a conversation like that... :-)
ReplyDelete-HA
Back and forth, give and take, sometimes a break.
ReplyDeleteSweet and to the point! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the easy flow of a conversation between equals. Not so good on the learning end.
ReplyDeleteThe ability is listen is something we all must learn. I like how you create that feeling of how we all need to be aware of each other.
ReplyDeleteGreat ekphrasis...or is it the other way around. Love the intimacy of poem and painting.
ReplyDeletenice....this is how conversation should be...open and comfortable
ReplyDeleteI love having such conversations. Very nice, Mary.
